Eric D. Hannapel, DDS, MS, PC
Hello, and welcome to our practice!
I feel fortunate to be given the opportunity to improve my patients’ confidence and self-esteem by giving them beautiful smiles through high quality orthodontic care. Orthodontics is not just my job, it's also my passion. My patients’ happiness with their smiles is something that will last for a lifetime, and I am so blessed that I have the chance to help them achieve all of their smile goals.
My office and team have grown over the years to meet the changing needs of our patients. You will find your time here with us is comfortable and fun. Most importantly, achieving your goals will be rewarding and the benefits of a healthy smile will last you a lifetime.
I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Michigan in 1992 and completed a General Practice Residency at University of Michigan Medical Center in 1993. I also attended the U of M for my specialty education, completing my Masters degree in Orthodontics in 1996. I began my orthodontic practice in 1996 and begin each day with my personal mission statement to welcome staff and patients into my office with honesty, commitment, and a “do what it takes” attitude every day.
I believe that continuing to invest in the education of myself and my team has helped us to serve our patient families in a very special way. I take over 40 hours of continuing education every year to stay on top of the advances of my profession, technology and research.

Outside the Office
I have lived all my life in the surrounding Grand Rapids area and am pleased to raise my family here and to provide beautiful, healthy smiles in the area where I grew up. When I am not creating smiles, I enjoy snow skiing, biking, wake boarding, wave surfing, and traveling with my wife, Dr. Beth, and our four children, Madison, Daniel, Aiden, and Caroline. In my spare time, I also coach my children’s basketball teams.
